  • While coming to Agra from Yamuna Express way, this is first tourist attraction in Agra. Besides some small monuments, there is nothing special to see here. It is adjacent to Yamuna river bank and a bi...  more »
  • As park uninspiring. It is an old garden with originally beautiful canals, but there is no water. It is located on the Yamunarivier. There are only a few benches at the entrance and there you will find also the only trash. The price for foreigners is way too high for what it offers. The Sjahjahantuinen between fort and Taj Mahal are vaster and much more pleasant for walking. In addition, the entrance there for free.

  • The Rambagh ( Aram Bagh ) was the first of the Mughal Gardens of India, built by Babur in 1528. This is not the typical Char Bagh that one commonly finds : it derives from the Persian ideal of heaven ...  more »

  • The Aram Bagh (Urdu: اراما باغ‬‎ ) is the oldest Mughal Garden in India, originally built by the Mughal Emperor Babur in 1528, located about five kilometers northeast of the Taj Mahal in Agra, India. Babur was temporarily buried there before being interred in Kabul. Aram Bagh, Agra Type Botanical garden Location India Coordinates 27°30′15.493″N 77°41′13.247″E The garden is a Persian garden, where pathways and canals divide the garden to represent the Islamic ideal of paradise, an abundant garden through which rivers flow. The Aram Bagh provides an example of a variant of the charbagh in which water cascades down three terraces in a sequence of cascades. Two viewing pavilions face the Jumna river and incorporates a subterranean 'tahkhana' which was used during the hot summers to provide relief for visitors. The garden has numerous water courses and fountains. The name is a corruption of the Persian Aaram Bagh meaning 'Garden of Rest'. It is also variously known as Bagh-i Nur Afshan 'Light-Scattering Garden', Aalsi Bagh or 'Lazy Garden': according to legend, Emperor Akbar proposed to his third wife, who was a gardener there, by lying idle for 6 days until she agreed to marry him. Jahangir waited in the garden in early March 1621 for the most astrologically auspicious hour for him to enter Agra after he took the Fort of Kangra. The preserved, surviving architecture dates to his reign and demonstrates the skill of his wife Nur Jahan as a garden designer
  • Situated at the left bank of river Yamuna based on the Charbagh Yojana of Mughals having stone Chatri
  • Located near Rambagh Chauraha. Lush green and open place to walk, yoga practice even for PICNIC. Good place for younger kids. Entry through the ticket available on ticket window, worth Rupees 15 only.
  • Nice place for morning walk or yoga and peaceful place. Well maintained historical park
  • Nothing special to see here.. Just a clean park with young couples making most use of it.. If you are an outsider then there are other more beautiful places to see...

Where to stay in Agra

Agra offers a broad selection of budget and mid-range hotels, many within easy striking distance of the Taj Mahal, the main reason to visit the city. The area just south of Taj offers arguably the least expensive accommodations, while the streets splitting off from Fatehabad Road boast a high concentration of mid-range hotels. Keep in mind that free Wi-Fi remains unavailable even in most of Agra's nicest hotels--expect additional (and possibly steep) fees for limited Internet access.
