Mehtab Bagh, Agra
(4/5 based on 750+ reviews on the web)
Take a stroll around Mehtab Bagh, a Persian-style garden complex sitting directly opposite the Taj Mahal. Separated from the famous building by a river, the garden reflects the same idea that the spiritual resides in the symmetrical. This particular layout, called a charbagh, involves the division of the ground into four smaller parts with water features and walkways. The pleasant garden also offers a good view of the cultural wonder opposite, often with fewer people obstructing your photos than at the building's front. Put Mehtab Bagh into our Agra trip itinerary builder to see other points of interest to visit during your vacation in Agra.

  • At this point, across the River opposite the Taj Mahal, the Sultan was going to make a huge black mausoleum, but did not.

  • Its best way to view taj from back side. Also place were Sahajhan originally planned to built black marble replica of taj.
  • We didn't get it. Maybe it's the time of year but there just wasn't any oomph. Yes, you can see the Taj from here. But it's a walk from the car park to end up.... don't hold your breath.

  • If you want to take the best pictures of Taj Mahal, you should come here! And the best timing is just before it is closed, nearly 6 pm, when it is a sun set! You will not regret it!! The entry ticket for foreigners was 100 Rs, it might increased though, considering that almost in all monuments the prices been increased.
  • Good park near taj mahal Best advantage is when taj mahal colse on friday you can see taj mahal very closely this is save my money and my surat to agraa visit for taj mahal Lovely place You may go when only taj mahal is close to visit
  • It is a nice garden with a nice distant view of Taj Mahal It can be visited when it is not hot daytime and if you have enough time to spend just for roaming around. There is nothing much there to visit
  • No hassles. Perfect view for taj mahal which is otherwise closed on friday
  • Would to like to view Taj Mahal from the other side. Mehtab Bagh offers the perfect view. Also the remains of the Black Taj Mahal is also there where Shah Jahan attempted to build another one before his son Aurangazeb arrested him.
