Mehtab Bagh, Agra

Categories: Nature & Parks
Inspirock Rating:
4/5 based on 650+ reviews on the web
Take a stroll around Mehtab Bagh, a Persian-style garden complex sitting directly opposite the Taj Mahal. Separated from the famous building by a river, the garden reflects the same idea that the spiritual resides in the symmetrical. This particular layout, called a charbagh, involves the division of the ground into four smaller parts with water features and walkways. The pleasant garden also offers a good view of the cultural wonder opposite, often with fewer people obstructing your photos than at the building's front. • Nowhere near as crowded as Taj Mahal, great place view the tomb in all is glory. When we were in Agra it was often hazy later in the day so sunset may not be spectacular but this is a nice peaceful sp...  read more »
  • This is a garden situated on opposite side of Taj Mahal on the bank of Yamuna river.. Needs huge development work for this one

  • There's nothing much to watch. Only a big Park that can be used for morning or evening walks. I visited at the time of mid April and I couldn't see any flowers blooming. The only good thing about the place is its view of Taj Mahal, it make you feel that you are actually within the Taj Mahal campus. Good for a visit but not worth of toouch time spend.
  • Best place to get the panoramic view of Taj Mahal and its twin red buildings - looks lovely at sunset - if you are lucky you can get a reflection of Taj in Yamuna.
  • Best place to see taj Mahal from, timing are from sun rise to sun set. Camera ticket Is 25 Rps And entry ticket is 5 rps Camera gear such as tripod aren't allowed .
  • There's nothing unique about this place except the fact that it's very peaceful. You see the same monument (as the Taj Mahal is symmetrical) but there are very less people and the sunsets here are cinematic. Great place.
  • Beautiful garden. For photographer, better be here *before* sunrise. Taj in the sunrise time is more beautiful than every imagination. Walk east along the river bank until end, and see Taj from another unseen viewpoint. Not so good around 0900-1600. Beauty again around sunset.
