  • We planned on stopping here, and almost missed it. You really need to look for the sign on the side of the road for Nupsstadur since the village is far from the road. We parked across the street on a ...  more »
  • A good representation of old homes and buildings in Iceland. Walk at your leisure to explore the area and the buildings. An interesting view of life as it was.
  • In spite of the prohibition sign, you can visit the plant still! So the official information that we have received in Vik. So be sure to go, even if the attraction has now disappeared from the new guidebooks. But still the bus parking lot of the former toilet booths along the way can be seen. A beautifully preserved complex of a traditional Icelandic farm with interesting history. Two brothers (E. Hannesson and F. Hannesson) have lived here together in old age and is buried behind the church together. Yet the establishment can be seen (in a House at later date). Everything looks as if the residents are only briefly away and come right back. Also in the small wooden church you can go in, the key is from the outside. Completely preserved carved furnishings, on the small altar the painted year of 1789. The environment of the Court is simply gorgeous, a good place, to take perfect pictures and short stop on the tour.
