  • This is worth a stop if you are driving along the south road. You really get the feeling you are on a farm that lasted for centuries, and the pictures of the turf buildings are a nice contrast to all ...  more »
  • At Nupsstadur is a very small church where the grass grows on the roof. This church was part of a farm. From the ring road, it is somewhat hard to see. You have to park the car on the ring because the access road is closed, there it is. You walk to the fence and then you walk the road. On the left you have a waterfall and walk along the right what expired barns and farm to the Church. Very nice to see and the funny thing is that the Church was open. That is something very special in Iceland. All churches have been where we were closed. Behind the Church is a small graveyard where the inhabitants of the farm are buried.
