  • My boyfriend and I spent a few hours here one day! We walked to the waterfall and looked at the church as well. We will be back! It does get crowded here in the mornings.

  • This is an interesting and beautiful place. It was cool to see the tectonic plates. Unfortunately as I was heading toward the waterfall it poured rain. This is a great place to visit.

  • Really a beautiful place to visit and have a small walk. The landscape is amazing and very interesting to look at, so if you’re close to the national park you should stop and pay a visit. There’s also a beautiful look out spot in the park, where there’s a small parking lot so you can get out and enjoy the view of the lake
  • Easily the best views in Iceland and excellent exhibition at the visitor centre explaining the parliamentary/legislative history of Iceland. NB in winter a lot of the paths get VERY icy/slippy so definitely wear hiking boots with good grip and if you have crampons, put them on too!
  • It’s a breath taking scenic beauty. And yes, this is location where GAME OF THRONES shooting took place in various episodes. It is totally worth visiting. There is a hike of 1 or 2 mile which lead to a waterfall. Waterfall was frozen mostly and it looked stunning. DO NOT miss this place, this is a must visit.
  • It was incredible. There is so much beauty in Iceland. One can see areas in which rocks and hillsides have been pulled apart. Simultaneously, there are long open plains with gorgeous streams leading to a lake and snow capped mountains and volcanoes in the background.
  • Beautiful nature area. The oldest Parliament in the world was here. Also the tectonic plates of Europe and America separates here which you can see with your bare eyes. Definitely worth visiting this place.
