  • Very small national park. Can be done in under 2 hours. Very quaint and nice. There’s a great view from the balcony of the information center, waterfall, and drowning lake  more »
  • The park itself is really large and could use several hours or even days to see most of it. Definitely go to the snorkel and scuba diving area, take the walk down into park from the visitor center...  more »
  • Stunning scenery, lots of information boards, easily accessible. Take your time so you can take it all in.  more »
  • It was beautiful went last week which meant it was all snowy. A bunch of us just a had a massive snowball fight which was very fun. It was very peaceful and nice to take in. Would recommend some kind of foot gear if you go in winter time though. It was VERY slippy!
  • As with any tourist location, the numbers were a little overwhelming, but that was probably due in a large part to the tours. The site offered free toilets, a cafe & gift shop, and then the ability to walk along several km of routes at this location of great history, and the border of the European and American plate. It looked wonderful in the snow, and I personally look forward to returning, perhaps with a rental car, during the summer or autumn months to see it in a different condition.
  • Free diving and snorkeling here is amazing. I've never experienced anything like it. The views are also beautiful. You can easily sink a few hours here
  • what a great place. we saw it in blizzards and it was magical.....go visit and stay a while. fantastic historical site.
  • A magical and beautiful experience, definitely should be on places to see if you get the chance to visit Iceland. We went in the winter time and it was so beautiful, but make sure you wrap up as it was very cold.
