  • Significant because this is where chieftains came to discuss country wide business. Iceland is still a leader in governance and innovation, and we can all learn from their example.

  • The oldest Parliament in the world met here! It is steeped in history. Really interesting to imagine it. There are loads of walks to do in this area of the national park.

  • In Thingvellir Park there is. Trail of walls simply marvelous and scenic. Leads to waterfall on other side.

  • Absolutely beautiful drive to Lögberg. Such a peaceful and thoughtful place - until you get to the top where there is an infestation of tour buses. I loved this place until it was overrun with 100s of tourists. The viewing platform was completely overcrowded with groups of people ignoring their tour guides and then being shuffled straight into the gift shop. Do yourself a favour and park at the bottom car park near Oxharafoss and walk up. It’s much more enjoyable than being shoulder to shoulder with people who snap a thousand photos and get back on the bus.
  • Good history of Iceland and well presented with lots of photo opportunities.
  • Awesome stop for history, geology, nature! All for just a small parking fee.
  • Interesting place with A lot of history!
  • Amazing rock formations , amazing setting , great to walk and explore the natural beauty of this part of Iceland . Go and explore the rivers full of fish and little waterfalls . From the top , have a look how beautifully this lava made land looks like .
