  • The hike there is beautiful, then you arrive to the pool... The changing rooms are wet and muddy and have trash in them. The pool itself is green and slimy. I can see why some people think it's disgus...  more »
  • It's a beautiful and easy hike from where you park your car. Once you get there, the changing rooms are kind of gross since this isn't a monitored location, so we changed as quickly as possible. The h...  more »
  • I wouldn't recommend this to spot to swim in. There aren't any locals that go here to swim. If you are looking for a spot that locals go to look in the towns for their public pools. This pool is full ...  more »

  • Beautiful location and pool. Must have been amazing back in the day when there was upkeep. It was a short 15min hike and a great location. However the water was really not very warm except one corner, the change rooms were absolutely disgusting. Overall wish I had not gone swimming as it just felt dirty.
  • A beautiful 20 minute hike leads to the pool, which adds to the excitement of swimming there! There's also a small trail that gives a top view of the pool and surrounding area. I absolutely loved the pool! The deeper part of it is hotter.
  • It's about a 15 minute hike that crosses 2 small streams to get to the pool. This is truly an otherworldly looking place, hidden behind mountains in a private crevasse. I was here in late January for sunset and there were about 10 people in the pool and almost 20 walking around taking pictures. It's not the most private setting, but still worth the hike if you are in the area!
  • Wow, this place is great! I literally could not take enough pictures. Don't worry about the changing rooms - they're perfectly functional and have good clothing hooks to boot. The pool isn't exactly steaming hot but the view is 💯.
  • This pool is in a picturesque setting nestled between two ridges from Eyjafjallajökull with scenic views that include some smaller waterfalls. However, it's not all that hot... I'm guessing this is more of a summertime attraction. We went on a day that had a high of about 39 °F and the water was quite cold. There is a spout at one end that feeds hot water in, as well as a small, warm stream that trickles in on the side. That's all the hot water you'll get. I'm glad I was able to experience Seljavallalaug, but I'll probably skip it next time unless I'm visiting in the summer.
