  • Quick stop and photo op along Ring road; interesting to see the many ways the caves were used. Fun climb for kids and always fun to watch sheep and lambs grazing away.  more »
  • FREE and a few meters away from Hwy 1 (Ring Road)! Serendipitous surprise as we were driving past the site on our 30-day Iceland vacation this July, 2021! We were not sure we were allowed to climb...  more »
  • We stopped by on a rainy afternoon to check this out. Parking was super easy, right off the main road. The sign gives you some information and then you are free to just go inside and explore. It...  more »

  • It's nice and interesting to see this cave if you happen to drive pass here and have extra time to explore some small attraction. Otherwise, this cave is actually quite small and doesn't have much to see. Wouldn't recommend to take a trip to just drive to see this cave though.
  • Fantastic little house and cave at the side of the road. Parking available close by. Worth a stop and an exploration if you have the time.
  • This is a neat little stop on the side of route 1 that you can miss very easily. It's an ancient man made cave which was thought to have been used for storing hay and a smitty. You can walk into it and it is quite big inside.
  • A historical cave barn that easily overlooked by most tourists, and we did during our 1st visit to Iceland. We had the whole place to ourselves, together with a lot of midges. As a result, we didn't really go inside the cave. So do bring insect repellent with you. At the gate entrance, there's some parking space by the road.
  • Well worth a 15 minute visit.
