  • One of the most famous waterfalls in Iceland, particularly because of the amazing rock formation (columnar jointed volcanic rocks) and the track leading you there. Amazing natural surroundings in one of the most interesting and protected areas of whole Iceland. Stay inside the tracks! It's a 2.2Km walk from the camping site. Been here a few times and every time is like the first. Highly recommended.
  • Amazing and free park. Due to the having to hike to the falls (it's a very good path with earth stairs but it's certainly a decent elevation change) it is much less crowded than the other waterfalls on the southern coast. There are also other trails and little nooks here and there revealing serene settings.
  • A 30 min moderate uphill that's worth every step. Very very beautiful place. Looks better in the summer because of the green moss growing all around.
  • One of the most beautiful waterfalls of Iceland. Mostly because of the Roch formation. Would really recommend it if you are nearby. 30 minutes walk uphill.
  • It's a 1.8km hike (mostly uphill) from the parking lot to the Svartifoss waterfall but it is well worth it. Iceland has other larger waterfalls but the interesting columnar structure and shape of Svartifoss makes it very unique. The hike up as well poses great views of the valley below out to the ocean.
