  • This is a great place to have to go uphill, but it's worth it. Very beautiful and unusual waterfall

  • This waterfall is located within the Vatnajokull National Park, does not have a complicated access but there is to walk a bit to reach it. It's very unusual, because it is not limited to fall off a cliff near the sea, but it opens a hole between the hard volcanic rock in the area. The basalt formed columns that are broken by the action of water. As this is a young land, is not yet very eroded and the hole opened by the River as broken by the water columns are still very visible and stand out enough! They say that the Church of Hallgrímur in Reykjavik is inspired by this column... well could be true!
