  • I really liked the format of the museum, with short video clips that you move between. They also provide free tea/coffee and biscuits, which is a lovely addition! There's two floors, the first floor h...  more »
  • 1st full day in Reykjavik, and probably the best way to start it off. Various videos of the history and sites of Iceland. Very informative. Coffee and Tea is complementary and so too is biscuits. Don'...  more »
  • Was a video museum that gave us past history of Iceland as well as contemporary look on Icelandic culture and current events. Worth the little over an hour to get through.  more »

  • Interesting. Very American influenced, which was a bit odd, and plays a bit like an ad for Icelandic tourism bureau as a result. The videos upstairs were more interesting than downstairs. A little more about culture- sheep? Horses? Farming? Wool? - would have been helpful. They could dig a bit deeper for politics, religion, economy. A bit too superficial but interesting idea.
  • I wish I would have come here first thing. This museum covers a lot of history, culture, and geography in a simple but informative way. It is the museum of modern times. I hope to see more cities or countries adopting this concept.
  • Just has a bunch of TVs each playing a 3 minute video. No exhibitions, artifacts or art. The videos themselves are mildy interesting. Not even something I would watch at home, let alone while visiting Rekjavik where time is very limited
  • It's unlike any museums I've been to. This place exemplifies a museum "exhibit." They show short films about Iceland's culture, history, and the stories of people from Iceland as well as visitors. It was great learning so much about Iceland within approximately an hour. They said that the museum has only been open for ~3 months, so I'm curious as to what the museum will grow into... If they plan on changing out the films--if so, how often? Will there be themes they plan to explore to tell stories about Iceland? The people are very nice. They were willing to accommodate us coming in with less than an hour before their closing time. They have lockers for your bags, etc. and coat hangers. Most of the museums we visitied in Reykjavík have these. I wish places in the US have this (more).
  • Really unique & informative. Lovely staff. Well worth the price of admission.
