See some of the best contemporary Icelandic art together with international works at Reykjavik Art Museum Hafnarhus. The museum complex spreads over three locations in the city and features the nation's largest collection of art. Each museum building houses a permanent collection of work from one of Iceland's great artists – painter Jóhannes S. Kjarval, postmodernist master Guðmundur Guðmundsson Erró, and sculptor Ásmundur Sveinsson. In addition to permanent displays, the museum frequently organizes events and hosts visiting exhibits. • Very nice building in an old warehouse re-built with a contemporary architecture. Content of museum is interesting
  • Small modern art museum. Exhibitions are well presented. The ticket price includes 24h access to two other museums in Reykjavik.
  • Worth taking a look. The shop inside has some imaginative locally-made stuff for sale too.
  • Beautifully curated. A little bit of everything
  • They aced the minimalist look and the comics were good too. Good break to get away from the cold. And they have a coffee machine upstairs which is free!
