Imagine Peace Tower, Reykjavik

(3.6/5 based on 200+ reviews on the web)
Imagine Peace Tower is a tall tower of light projected from a white stone monument, designed by artist Yoko Ono as a memorial to her late husband, John Lennon. It's also a reference to his peace anthem, "Imagine." Notice the words "imagine peace" in 24 languages carved into the monument. The column of light emerges vertically into the sky from a 10 m (33 ft) wide wishing well. One million written wishes, which Ono gathered over the years in another project, are buried underneath the tower. The intensity of the light changes depending on the weather conditions. Take a guided tour to learn more about the couple's continuing campaign for world peace, which began in the 1960s.
