  • This is a must see, if nothing else to be able to say that you saw this hilarious, well put together museum of phalli! There are some fantastic stories in here, as well as, great exhibits.  more »
  • The 3 ladies in the group really enjoyed, it is for sure unique and interesting. The men in the group were to shy to come but the other men in the museum seem to be having as much fun as we did. I wou...  more »

  • If you are a fan of various specimens of penises dried or preserved in jars, this place is for you! I must admit that it's a bit of a strange exhibition. But we figured it would be worth a visit for a story, if nothing else. It's a pretty small museum, but let's be honest, they don't take up much space if you stand them on end. The gift shop has a few quirky gifts, if you're into that sort of thing.
  • Oh come on people rating the museum low, you know what this is and why you are going. We had a good time, taking photos and laughing. We met up with some friends from the States who were also visiting Reykjavik. Friends back home were certainly jealous we went and they didn't, though I doubt they would admit it in person. Interesting and different museum that's for sure! A mix of science, art, and humor this is a must see on your trip!
  • This place is definitely worth a visit, especially if the weather is bad, but you cannot be shy. There are penises everywhere! There is everything from whale, mice, and even human specimens. The place is a bit small, but the gift shop is great!
  • This is the most unique museum I have visited. Just like it's outer appearance suggests, it's not a very big museum. But it's that kind of experience that you can bring back home and brag with your friends about :)
  • A cute but small museum. It could offer a bit more info on how this reproductive organ functions in different animals.

Where to stay in Reykjavik

In this highly walkable capital, many of Reykjavik's hotels and guesthouses offer close proximity to the city's popular attractions, bars, and restaurants. The waterfront offers an exciting dose of activity. Although Reykjavik provides plenty of accommodations to its flocks of visitors, there is a dearth of budget options in the city. Price-conscious visitors should consider staying in a hostel, with both private and dorm rooms available, or a nearby campsite. Although the campground is not as centrally located as some hotels, guests are better positioned to take advantage of the natural surroundings.
