Harpa Reykjavik Concert Hall and Conference Centre, Reykjavik

4.6
Architecturally inspired by Icelandic nature, volcanoes, and Arctic light, Harpa Reykjavik Concert Hall and Conference Centre plays host to concerts, comedy shows, and conferences. The structure's steel framework supports clear glass panels of different shapes, accented by colored glass panels in no obvious pattern. Join a guided tour of the enormous hall to learn more about the building and to gain access to areas normally off limit to the public. • The architecture is simply fantastic- oddly angled glass windows with an occasional colored one thrown in. At night neon lights move across the front in colors that mimic the aurora borealis. You can ...  more »

  • Visited the place just as an attraction and not for a concert. Cool building well worth visiting for its architecture. There is a movie theater showing movies about Iceland (free for kids but pricey for adults), a few very expense souvenir shops and a crown jewel of it all -a pay toilet (after all it's Iceland).
  • Harpa Concert hall is a lovely glass building in Reykjavik, Iceland which is located near the Harbour. The building is very pretty when the sun Shine's on it, it twinkles with lots of different colours & is lit up at night so can be seen from a distance. Inside is a small shopping centre with gift shops, book shops, cafes, cinema & rest rooms. It has a relaxed atmosphere inside & the people are very friendly. A lovely place to visit on a cold afternoon.
  • Down by the harbour, this modern building shines with reflected light and lures you in. Inside offers some spectacular geometric architecture, a cinematic tour of Iceland, a shop and bars, as well as the chance to be entertained by the various concerts and shows on offer. There are also areas to relax, play games and be creative. The views over the harbour are spectacular. Just the side, is a stone covered beach, where you can practice balancing stones and leave your mark.
  • It is not easy to describe just how beautifully unique Harpa's building is. From so many different angles on the outside you see such beautiful glasswork. Then you head inside and once again have so many fun angles to look up, down, left, right, etc. Fun to spend time here just taking photos. Would have loved to attend an event or just see the concert hall but time was not permitting for us. Alas, I fully intend to visit Reykjavik again in the future. Definitely a must see.
  • The 15 minutes 4 screens Iceland promo video showing in the basement level 2 is not very good at all. The ticket cost 1500kr. The video was short and the pictures were not sharp. The screens were high up so we had to tilt our heads the whole time. I would suggest people to avoid this. Aurora Northern Light Museum was much more fun.
