  • If you like beer, you will love this tour. As many have mentioned before, it is not a typical brewery tour. To me, they took all the best parts of the brewery tour: the beer tasting and history of the...  more »

  • Decent transport system to and from KEF/Reykjavik. Friendly personal, good sized buses. No restrooms on buses.
  • Decent shuttle company. Bit pricey but it is a good airport shuttle system that they provide.
  • Took the Golden Circle Express tour with tour guide Alvar. He was excellent. He was a trove of fascinating information about history, myths, geography. He spoke almost continuously during the entire tour.
  • Good service. Made the start and end of our holiday good.
  • Tour on viking horses and blue lagoon in Icleand via Grey lines (Viator booked) was fun but the Grey line dd not hold up its end of the tour. All 6 of us were waiting 30 minutes prior to pick up time and expected as per other tours we took previously in Iceland that the rep would come into the hotel lobby to pick us up. No rep showed and we missed the bus. We had to take two taxis at $65/taxi to the horse farm. In addition connections between the horse farm and bus to the blue lagoon were not coordinated and were left up to the consumer. TAke tours in Iceland that are consumer aware and have responsible members on the buses, not grey line reps or drivers.

Where to stay in Reykjavik

In this highly walkable capital, many of Reykjavik's hotels and guesthouses offer close proximity to the city's popular attractions, bars, and restaurants. The waterfront offers an exciting dose of activity. Although Reykjavik provides plenty of accommodations to its flocks of visitors, there is a dearth of budget options in the city. Price-conscious visitors should consider staying in a hostel, with both private and dorm rooms available, or a nearby campsite. Although the campground is not as centrally located as some hotels, guests are better positioned to take advantage of the natural surroundings.
