  • If you like beer, you will love this tour. As many have mentioned before, it is not a typical brewery tour. To me, they took all the best parts of the brewery tour: the beer tasting and history of the...  more »

  • We went on the Golden Circle Classic Tour, the Northern Lights Mystery tour, and the Blue Lagoon Spa Day....and it was INCREDIBLE. The buses were clean and on-time. Drivers were friendly and helpful. Some buses even had outlets to charge our phones. Tour guides told us tons of interesting facts and stories about where we were going and Iceland in general, so we really enjoyed the journey there at the same time as the sights itself!
  • Had two very different experiences with Grayline in Iceland. The first was a lovely Golden Circle Tour with a friendly and entertaining tour guide. Great day out. The second was a trip to the airport. I was picked up by a very grumpy bus driver who would grunt at passengers. He didn't bother to open the rear door for luggage nor welcome passengers. One group got on and mentioned that their friend was on the way. Literally 5 seconds passed and the bus driver started honking...at 3:45 am. If you hate customers, work in a factory. If you like customers, do a better job like the Golden Circle tour guide did.
  • Buyer Be Aware! Misleading advertisement! We purchased the Airport Shuttle Service with "Door-to-Door service" with pickup from a hotel listed on the Grey Line website. We learned the night before our scheduled pickup that we'd need to schlepp our bags up a rather steep hill to a bus stop several blocks away at 4:00AM (in the rain).Buses are apparently no longer allowed to travel along neighborhood streets.
  • We used this for transport from airport to our airbnb. Although they told us they would drop is 5 minute walk for our address, the shuttle driver delivered is right in front of the building. Great service. Friendly staff. Best price compared to the competition
  • Booked the northern lights tour with them but on the day of the tour there was a thick layer of clouds and no chance to see the lights. Most other companies canceled the tour that night since there was nothing to see but Grey Line didn't. I asked the tour guide if I can cancel the tour and get a refund before the tour but he insisted that there is a high chance to see the lights although both the weather and the aurora forecasts were saying diferently. So I ended up spending the night driving amesly for hours with 200 other people (4 full buses) and ended up seeing absolutley nothing! I tried to ask for a refund after the fact but the answer was a cathergorical NO so in the end they made around £7600 in one night by forcing people to go on a pointless tour. My advice, pick any other travel agency in Reyjkavik since all of them had the common sence to cancel that pointless tour but Grey Line treated its customers as cash cows good for milking.

Where to stay in Reykjavik

In this highly walkable capital, many of Reykjavik's hotels and guesthouses offer close proximity to the city's popular attractions, bars, and restaurants. The waterfront offers an exciting dose of activity. Although Reykjavik provides plenty of accommodations to its flocks of visitors, there is a dearth of budget options in the city. Price-conscious visitors should consider staying in a hostel, with both private and dorm rooms available, or a nearby campsite. Although the campground is not as centrally located as some hotels, guests are better positioned to take advantage of the natural surroundings.
