Mývatn Nature Baths, Reykjahlid

Must see · Hot Spring · Nature / Park
Soak inside or out at Mývatn Nature Baths. A warm natural lagoon maintains a temperature of 35-40 C (95-104 F). Inside you can take an even hotter steam bath, which uses geothermal steam that rises through holes in the floor. If you get too hot, you'll find cold showers outside. Relax with a back, foot, or full-body massage, in the massage room or out by the lagoon. Often chosen as an alternative to the Blue Lagoon, these hot springs attract fewer tourists and are less expensive. • A wonderful bathing experience in milky blue water (just a little bit smelly in the beginning) and a great view on to lake Myvatn. The pool area is big enough so you won't be too close to others. And....  more »
  • The Nature Baths are in almost every way better than the Blue Lagoon. 1. The Nature baths are less Crowded than other lagoons. 2. The price is less than half of the blue lagoon. 3. The food and beverages at the bath are not only better, but also Less expensive than the blue lagoon. 4. The view from the baths is fantastic! The baths are currently undergoing renovations, but I’m sure that any improvements will make this place even more enjoyable.
  • Nice place. Just don't expect too much. It had a hot water pool with a nice view. And a sauna. But that's it. I think they were building a bar.
  • Stunning baths, crisp blue water, perfect temperature of the water and a private experience with the steam given off from the water. Left feeling rejuvenated and refreshed. Would love to go every weekend if i could.
  • This was a wonderful break on a very wet and rainy day when I was there awhile back. Pools are very well kept and are big enough to accommodate large volume of people. The facilities were nicely kept and the snacks were decent. This is another spot you want to visit, kick your feet up and soak in the warm waters.
  • The Baths are nice hot springs in the Myvatan area. I believe it is the only Hot Springs that is open at night, which creates a really nice atmosphere. On a cool evening, you have about a minute from the time you leave the springs to get inside, before your body cools off and you begin to freeze. Nice experience in a nice area Great part of Iceland!
