  • We took a little detour on our way from near Selfoss to the Golden Circle - and we didn't regret it. We found Hjalparfoss alright, easy to access - and we were the only people there! Something you don...  more »

  • A bit out of the way and maybe hard to find but one of my favorite waterfalls in Iceland. There are a few tables out so you can set up and have a great lunch here. I found that it was really peaceful here as there was not many tourists.
  • A good, remote waterfall. Don't expect any other services, including outhouses.
  • Awesome place, very few people. Black gravel road to get to it. You can also go to the top of it as well.
  • This is a nice Place with a twin waterfall and a small lake. It is located next to the high way, so you easily reach it without 4x4 car. In addition to dead nature, you can find wild animals here: a family of otters leave nearby!
  • Spectacular views, great drive to get there if coming up from the south avoiding the bonded roads and 1 of Iceland's many amazing waterfalls.
