  • The highest waterfall in Iceland. But with little flow during the summer. The combination of the basaltic formations and clayey strata of red-orange color make it spectacular. The ascent is a bit hard, but not impossible to make it even with children. Bring water and something to eat for the ascent. It takes about an hour to upload it.

  • The water falls were gorgeous but it's a very grueling hike (about 4.5 miles round trip) to get to the falls with over 2 of it straight uphill. Gorgeous views. Not sure I would have done it again had I known what to expect from the walk!
  • A very nice hike. 2 hours round trip without hurry. Every 30 minutes a view on different part of the canyon before arriving to the end.
  • Quite a hike to reach the waterfall, but the falls is gorgeous, beautifully surrounded by basaltic rocks.
  • This is a huge and spectacular waterfall that plummets into a high walled caldera ringed with red stripes and is a real treat to see in person.
  • It wasn't on my list, but after that 2h hike and that tremendously beautiful waterfall and walls I can only recommend to stop by.
