  • In the middle of a welcome stay almost endlessly appearing natural. Gunnar Gunnarsson Museum is worth a visit, and the offer of the restaurant really above average given the distance to the civilization.

  • The main building is the former home of the Icelandic writer Gunner Gunnerson. Located next to the ruins of an old monastery. Is singular its decoration and building exterior, in stone in contrast with the painted in color white. On the ground floor there is a restaurant with a couple of large rooms. They serve food and coffee. There are different tables with information about the area outside next to the remains of the monastery of the middle ages. All this is close by Lake Lagarfljot and Hengifoss and Litlanesfoss waterfalls.

  • Must-see when visiting East. Located at the end of the Lake Lagarfljot views are formidable. Is located next to the ruins of an ancient monastery. The building is a small museum. But more attractive is its architecture and its grass-covered roofs. It is a few hundred metres from Hengifoss, making it a fantastic excuse to recover forces have with their cakes and desserts.
