  • Very interesting volcanic rock collection incl Obsidian, Jasper. A self-taught man, Jan is just as interesting as his 35-years of lifework! Some nice souvenirs available to buy too, made of reindeer antler and whalebone. He collects " hello/welcome" in various languages from visitors from various parts of the world who visit and engraves it on wood. A must visit place if coming to Djupivogur!
  • Jon's collection and art are amazing. He is also friendly and very informative. Would suggest everyone stop here!
  • What an amazing man and an amazing shop! So special, totally worth the stop.
  • Really wonderful gift shop and collection. Great local experience.
  • When stopping or staying in Djúpivogur, you MUST stop by and see Jón Friðrik Sigurðsson. You´ll find his house just up the road from Hótel Framtið (another place worth experiencing). You really can´t miss JFS; his house is yellow and decorated with all manner of art on the front side. Stepping into his backyard is like literally stepping into a museum, as this man has collected what has to be tens of thousands of rocks from the local valleys over the last 38 years. Not to be outdone by his amazing collection, Mr. Sigurðsson is simply a person you do not want to miss. He can tell you stories about every rock in his collection, and if you step in to his workshop, you can buy some amazing art. Carvings in stone and reindeer antler are abundant, but again, the real attraction is the owner. We traveled the entire wonderful country of Iceland, and Mr. Sigurðsson will be one of the things that we remember most. We could have stayed all day had we not had more exploring to do. PS: This guy is a HUUUUGE Manchester United fan, and if you're a Steven Gerrard fan? Forget it. Lol.
