Black and white everywhere and incredible tranquility, because tourists come here significantly less than for example. attractions of the Golden Circle. Walking along the edge of the crater and the surrounding lava fields. Great experience. The route to the crater and around is marked, enter after wooden stairs. Views from the top are amazing, the mountains close to resemble Canyon.:) Strange that in Polish you can find guides about this place only two sentences. I recommend you take a peek inside a nearby village to see how the lava field are integrated into the houses inhabitants. Interestingly it looks like.

I went in the winter, and there wasn't much to see regarding the crater itself, though the surrounding view from the top was pretty cool. My friend and I also went to Kerid crater, which was prettier ... more »
