  • Beautiful gardens just out of the way enough to be a quiet oasis. The displays are outstanding, and it is a refreshing place to wander around after a long day driving. Full of little outdoor rooms wit...  more »
  • Make the time to walk here and see this beautiful garden. We were fortunate to have been here with beautiful fall equinox weather, but seeing foliage from another part of the globe is a treat any time...  more »

  • Very nice public park (access is free) located just outside the city centre. The botanical garden is one of the northernmost in the world and contains both Icelandic and foreign flora, with new species always being added to the collection. It is a great place to just take a stroll and relax in the middle of the green.
  • Wonderful for a stroll or to stretch your legs. Take your time and explore all of the paths and flowerbeds, then head to the cute café with great cakes and drinks to warm up before walking down the hill into the main part of town. Nice view of the fjord from some parts of the gardens. Highly recommended!
  • Must see! First off, it is free. Secondly, it is so lovely that I would pay. Can spend a quick stretch the legs break or a few hours here. It was perfect to let my daughter loose to run around and be a kid while we took in the beautiful scenery and looked for the rare blue poppy. There is a cafe but we didnt try it.
  • Don't miss this garden. There are so many varieties of beautiful flowers, along with plants and trees. The walking paths are peaceful and everything is photogenic. I was very impressed and highly recommended this stop during your Akureyri stay
  • Gorgeous garden. Beautifully laid out, I loved the colors and flowers and enormous variation of plants. Spent more than an hour here, not too big. I didn't expect certain mountain flowers and was pleasantly surprised! Parking lot nearby, no parking fee or entrance fee. This is a must-see in Akureyri!
