Lake Cave, Tapolca

(220+ reviews on the web)
Cave Water Body
Embark on a boat trip beneath the city streets at Lake Cave. Accidentally discovered over 100 years ago, the cave has since become one of Tapolca's main attractions. The underground system is nearly 300 m (900 ft) long and more than two-thirds of it is covered with water. Lights illuminate the interior, so you can get a view of rock formations and the water. The admission fee includes boat fare; visitors under the age of 14 need to be accompanied by an adult. The temperature inside the cave is a constant 20 C (68 F), so be sure that you're dressed appropriately. The humidity and high calcium content are thought to be beneficial for those who suffer from respiratory conditions. With our international travel planner, Tapolca attractions like Lake Cave can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.
