  • Beautiful panorama from the Castle, you should therefore walking up. The history of the Castle, thematically and in an interactive way. After the tour you might want to relax in the Várkávézóban and ice-cream.

  • Szigliget is remembered for good views from the heights of Balaton and surroundings on a sunny day. Tickets are cheap, the fortress cards here do not take cash only. Breathing their last forint for tickets to travel on the bus, we are left with the irrelevant card and euro. But the cashier has exchanged without problems to us 50 euro at very good rate. After climbing the mountain, excursions to castles and of course photographing we gladly walked around the village, where many houses with roofs, traditionally covered with reeds. There is a cute restaurant, where you can grab a bite to eat, but we limit ourselves to a delicious ice cream. Reach Sigligeta of Hévíz is easy on normal public bus, time takes about half an hour. To go from a stop on the highway to the parking lot where cars stop, five minutes to seven. You can view the timetable back. Or use Google maps, which will build the itinerary and time will show the nearest bus stop. As our plans for the day was still visiting the Lake, back we went via Kestkee as we showed the Navigator. For a cheap Internet in Hungary we recommend buy card DreamSeam/

  • Castle ruins with great panoramic views. Lots of history about the castle can be learned here. Nice little cafe on site with a bow and arrow attraction. It's a must see if you're in the area.
  • The old citadel is a short, steep climb from the best ice cream shop this side of Lake Balaton. They also have wicked good Italian coffee just next door to the ice cream. The top of the citadel is an even steeper climb, but absolutely worth it, has the best 360 degrees view ever. Szigliget is a true gem, and the tower is the cherry on top of the cake.
  • Great view to the nearby hills and the lake Balaton from the top of the castle ruins. Funny and contemporary performance in the castle garden. Souvenirs, ice cream etc.
  • As a kid, I used to love coming up here and play among the ruins. As an adult, I appreciate the view. As others have said, there's not much left of the castle itself, but it's a small trek and you can still admire the view as well as the size of the place, imagining what it could have been like when it was fully functional.
  • Well preserved ruins of medieval fortress, great view arround and to Balaton lake, very cheap entrance fee and great ice cream and caffe in bar at entrance..toilets clean,no wi-fi..big parking no fee,a lot of posibilities to eat arround in restaurants,inns...
