Pecs Cathedral, Pecs

(200+ reviews on the web)
Religious Site Tourist Spot
Join a tour of Pecs Cathedral and admire the stunning collection of Romanesque sculpture and carvings. A church has stood on the site since the Roman Empire, but it was King Stephan I that founded this cathedral. During the tour, lights illuminate the marble statuary and intricately decorated walls and ceiling that feature gilded details. You'll also have the chance to admire the impressive organ, and hear it played. The tour guide will meet you just outside the cathedral gates in the morning or afternoon. See Pecs Cathedral and all Pecs has to offer by arranging your trip with our Pecs tour planner.

  • Beautiful neo-Romanesque interior and fascinating exterior, as the square is actually by the side. Do not miss the beautiful crypt!
  • My daughter went to the Cathedral, at my request, to pray for a seriously ill friend. At the entrance she was told she had to pay to enter the Cathedral. After much debate she was allowed to enter without paying. I have never heard of a Catholic having to pay to pray before and I am very upset at the treatment my daughter received. We have been taught that God's house is open to all, not only those who can afford it!
  • Nice! The streets around also!
  • Amazing place beautiful inside and outside and the view in front if it is fabulous
  • It's a monumental building where you should stop when you are in Pécs.
