  • In the Cup we were in prvoj half of January, when the Abbey was (unfortunately!) is closed to the public. Nevertheless, we went there, walked, walked around on the track, running under the wall, then walked to a botanical garden, went to Memorial 1000-anniversary, Church admired from afar and with great benefit and pleasure visited Abbatskuju Winery))

  • More interesting and more beautiful than you'd think. We have received a lot of information about using Audiogiude, so that you don't have the mass together, we can pace ourselves to look at the Abbey. The Abbey is located next to the Botanic Garden is also worth a little walk. The Abbey is deservedly a world heritage site.

  • An interesting and rather unusual abbey as it's built with the most modern tools and style available at the time. The building itself is in a decent condition. The main attraction for me was their library, which looks amazing. Decent for class trips.
  • Took a tour and after confusion of where to go, stumbled upon a beautiful library room but was met by a pigheaded inconsiderate old woman working there. After asking if she spoke English she proceeded to say the word "church" and point over and over again, getting impatient with me and raising her voice as if she were my mother. I became scared and felt uncomfortable so I turned around and went back out where she proceeded to yell at me. If you want tourists to come to your site and give you money, maybe learn some English and don't yell and point and roll your eyes. If you see her, run.
  • As you approach the town of pannonhalma, the archabbey dominates the skyline as its built on the highest spot in the area. We visited during low season & it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves! . The furnishings in the abbey is kept to a minimum in an attempt to help the monks focus on worshipping God. The library is beautiful and elegant. Walk around the abbey grounds if you have more time. Although there was not much of greenery during our visit, there's a certain quietness and peacefulness to enjoy. The abbey offers quite a few tours you can find on the website and there's an audio tour you can purchase to guide you around the main building. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Gyor! And don't forget to try the wines the abbey produces!
  • Looks imposing from far away. But once nearby it's a rather boring building. I ended up visiting the (tiny) souvenir shop offering lavender-based products.
  • Great architecture, art, view and place of worship.
