  • The Town Hall of Kecskemét is a very special building, built in a style that is difficult to define. The brochures say that architects Odon Lechner and Gyula Partos intend to mix elements of the French Renaissance to those of Hungarian folk art. The outcome is an art nouveau as often seen in this country. The building (especially the Cerimonial Hall) is theoretically open to the public by reservation for guided visits, though in recent days in the municipality held a Congress and visits are temporarily suspended. The House itself is massive and impressive and worth it to spend a quarter of an hour to turn it all around outside. Her bizarre facade not well defined shape, jump right out at you but the other sides reserve interesting and "photogenic" surprises. The inner courtyard is meant for concerts and cultural events. Since, according to the statistics, the most visited monument of the city, it has also become the symbol.
