  • It is a must when you are in the town. The castle history exhibition is interesting and instructive. Buildings are beautiful, great views, nice walk in the fresh air. We liked the Gardonyi Geza Emlekm...  more »
  • It is a moderate walk up. They want 1700HUF just to enter the grounds. The view is just as good from the outside. "Castle" is not much to see. My advise is to walk up for the views but skip entry. If ...  more »

  • Very nice restored castle. Not yet completed. Nice exhibitions, unfortunately only partially in English/German translation. Entrance fee does not contain entrance to all buildings/sites. If interested a full day is needed to see and visit everything.
  • One of the most well done interactive 3D presentations I have ever seen. A must do in Eger! The Hungarian battles with the Ottoman empire are always something that seem to be part of a fairy tale, is just so magnificent that only going there you can understand. You can also buy souvenirs, play with arrows and enjoy the amazing view from the top of the Castle to all Eger and its surroundings.
  • Must see if your in Eger. If your not interested in the museum exhibits you can buy a cheaper ticket that just let's you walk around and explore the ruins. I enjoyed the exhibits and they were all very well done. If you enjoy photography there are some really good lookouts where you can get shots of the city from above.
  • Must visit place in Eger. They do have life performance on the summer. May spend hours. Museums are good with English information, but video exhibitions aren't in english
  • Great place with kids. Interactive screens describing the history of the castle as well as the famous battle between the turkish and the hungarians
