Where to stay in Budapest

Attracting countless visitors with its architecture, history, and atmosphere, Budapest also provides a great selection of places to stay. The city’s hotels include everything from cozy and economical boutique establishments to luxurious world-renowned chains. Alternatively, choose from the huge variety of bed and breakfasts and hostels, as well as rental apartments ranging from economic to deluxe. While accommodations are spread throughout the city, more of them cluster on the livelier Pest side. You may want to place yourself near the sights you want to see most, but keep in mind that the city's wide public transportation network makes it relatively easy to reach all the major attractions no matter where you’re staying.

  • Really nice view of the city downhill. Good excursion start point at the upper station. Fine dishes in the buffet. Ideal for couples, families.
  • Amazing old chairlift, great views of the city from the upper part. Tickets can be bought in vending machines by card and with English language option.
  • Approx 15 mins ride, especially nice when you ride off the hill! Kids of any age, baby carriage are allowed to be taken
  • Stunning view on the chairlift on the way down Janos Heyg. Ride is reasonable length and view is great. However a little expensive. Worth a go especially if you went up with the children's railway.
  • Excellent view, fun! We usually go up to normafa with the bus 21 or the cogwheel walk over and come down with the chairlift. That makes it a kinda easy excursion.
