Take a tour through the volatile history of wars and struggles for independence at War History Museum. Located inside 19th-century army barracks, the museum hosts a large display of authentic weapons, uniforms, and military memorabilia. Learn about Hungary's military involvements ranging from the Revolution of 1848 through two world wars to the revolution against the Soviet dominance of 1956. In addition to the arms, clothes, and equipment, you'll see a collection of war propaganda materials, such as posters and pamphlets. World War II enthusiasts and researchers are given the rare opportunity to see the conflict from the Axis side at this museum. Guided tours in English and German are available at an additional cost. • Something difficult to find (on the Castle Hill) it offers a good collection of the military history of Hungary. While there is little large appliances, this is not, however as hidden elsewhere behind glass or not easily accessible through barriers.

  • A great museum. If you like militaria don't miss it. Knowledge guides in every gallery speak several languages.
  • Very interesting. The most interesting museum in Budapest. Miss some English signs, but museum crew can and are ready to explain everything.
  • Considerably little to see. Perhaps a couple interesting items for uniform enthusiasts but even then the cloths look new, remade and not original. Only some parts explained in English; thus its difficult for non-Hungarians to read about the details.
  • Good place
  • Csak a személyzetre figyeljetek, okosabb, mint egyes, alkalmazások!
  • Must see for history fans!
