  • The STATUES OF LAGOS KOSSUTH is an amazing area in the beautiful square . Lagos Kossuth was a Hungarian leader who was prominent in the uprising against the Habsburgs in 1848--1849 . The statue/statue...  more »
  • Lajos politician monument placed the square opens up the lawn between the Capitol and the Museum's north side. In this monument is built in white marble, and the "KOSSUTH" engraved on the bottom lined with 9 people, being in the middle of, so this guy thought Lajos politician. However, both sides in the 4 well I don't know who that person is, or was. Is that it differs from another unknown is displayed in the corner of this photographic image is obviously both shapes and colours I have seen. Is seen in the field, but this bronze and reddish, brownish base on where Piazza was what. Just think and check out this white marble monument is inscribed "KOSSUTH" and the name is Lajos politician monument and, no doubt, but deepened doubts and want to know the truth.

  • In the homonymous and beautiful square, on the north side, stands this statue that actually it would be more appropriate to define "monument". Named after the famous Hungarian politician replaced the previous, simpler and less imposing. Not a worthwhile visit, but since it's before Parliament is impossible to miss or skip it

  • Must visit site while visiting Budapest. Recently renovated beautiful square with the stunning view of the Hungarian parliament. Impressive architecture of the surrounding buildings. Feels like a time capsule into the historical fame of the Hungarian empire.
  • The Parliament building is beautiful and well worth a look, as do the neighboring buildings. The view to Buda is really nice, too. But otherwise the square is empty, with no trees to provide shade and no benches to sit, outside of nearby cafes. Gets really damn slippery too in rain or ice. Changing of the guards ceremony unintentionally hilarious. Ugly looking and depressing group statue occupies place of "honor" - what other nation would celebrate its tragedies?
  • There are a lot of events there. The guards march with the national flag, statues, the parliament. It is a nice place to visit.
  • Beautiful architecture, and history is all around you. Parliament, museums, and lots of areas to sit and chill. Visit Parliament for a tour inside, you can book online, or head to the visitors centre. Tours are conducted in several languages. Also check out the the downstairs museum halls. These have generally been free. Have been lots of restoration work done, and the square is more open. There is also a flag pole, where you can watch the soldier's changing guard, and the ceremony of taking the flag down at night. Visit the statue of former Prime Minister, Imre Nagy. Get here by M2 line, tram #2 (which will also take you along the river towards Chain Bridge, and across from the Fisherman's Bastion). Also a short walk from Margaret Bridge, where trams 4 & 6 stop.
  • One of the most important places in Budapest. Definitely an obligated place to visit. A building from the second half of XIX century, it has a eclectic style, very unique in its type. I'm sure you won't see anything like this. Located in a plaza round by other antic buildings, is very beautiful.
