Residence Parliament, Budapest
(4.6/5 based on 19,000+ reviews on the web)
Based on the British House of Parliament, Residence Parliament serves as one of the city's most beautiful landmarks with its recognizable neo-Gothic architecture. This site is the center of government activity, but it is also a magnificent domed structure and one of Europe's oldest legislative houses. This building was inaugurated in 1896 on the 1,000th anniversary of Hungary. Stroll along the Danube to take in views of the structure's exterior before entering. Walk up the building's intricate staircase and through its central hall, pausing to notice details like historic sculptures, stained-glass works, ornamental mosaics, and the Holy Crown of Hungary, which has been displayed here since 2000. Using our online itinerary creator, Budapest attractions like Residence Parliament can form part of a personalized travel itinerary.

  • We decided to have a look round the Parliament building, but as security was obviously very tight, our group had finished, but we had to wait for a group of about 20 German pensioners, before we could...  more »

  • A visit to the Parliament definitely goes through! Aside from the Majesty of the building (just to go around it takes a quarter of an hour), I recommend you go to the visitors center and book a visit inside with the tour guide speaking. They take you around inside, where the vaults are covered with pure gold and if you are lucky you will see the changing of the guard that takes place every hour. They will show you the treasure of Parliament and the blue room. I mean in one hour you can admire a small part of this beautiful Palace! All to see!

  • Poor breakfast, awfully small room, skimpy hotel... we've asked for extra toilet paper and got none... later we got stuck without any, so we had to purchase. If you're masochistic, go to this hotel. But if you love yourselves, find another place to accommodate.
  • I recommend verbatim, I read the complaints on the view outside the window, actually, but the rooms nice, clean, and the location of the rewanżuje all, close to the Parliament and St. Peter's Basilica. Stefan, the communication at hand, the same building from the Center to the renovation but very atmospheric;)
