  • The museum is in the middle of updating their exhibit halls to include placards which are also in English. Therefore, the WW1 hall had already been updated but the WW2 hall was closed due to the updating. The Hungarian Uprising placards were only in Hungarian but the overall summary of the periods were partly in English. The history of the region from the era after the French Revolution to the Hungarian fight for independence against the Austro-Hungarian Empire was well exhibited, although quite complicated.
  • Really a great museum but as others have noted only some parts of the museum have placards with English translations which makes it difficult to get the most out of what is presented. Would definitely be five stars if every placard had an English translation.
  • Very well presented museum. The staff is kind of quirky in that they follow you around a little bit.
  • A large collection of mainly uniforms ranging from the different hungarian empires and the nazi and soviet occupations. You can also see a fairly large collection of weapons along with the uniforms. Unfortunately, few of the placards are in english so it's difficult to learn anything besides observing the collection.
  • A great place for those who enjoy educational trips. Learnt lots here about the history of war in Budapest and got to see some impressive weapons. Lots of explanations written in English.
