Walk, swim, or visit the sites at Margaret Island (Margitsziget), a popular place for recreation in the heart of the city. In the 13th century this area was called "Island of Rabbits," but it has undergone many changes since then. View ruins of medieval churches and a Dominican convent on the island. Come during a concert at the island's open-air theater, see an outdoor movie, or eat dinner under the stars. Hang out at one of the many restaurant or cafes on the island, go for a run, have a picnic in a landscaped garden, relax at an outdoor pool, or play in the sun at Palatinus water park. • Nice ride on electric car by Margarita Island. It is a large garden of 2 km which occupies an island in the Danube outside Parliament. Desirable to seek a means of transport, bike or car for rent, which is not expensive

  • The Park is located in the Margaret Island in the Danube River. You can access to it on foot or on public transport across the bridge of the same name on the island. This Park its size lets you perform all sorts of outdoor activities or spend a day strolling through the island. The place is very popular among the inhabitants of Budapest

  • The Island is very relaxing and peaceful. My family and I enjoyed watching the fountain dance along to different songs!
  • Absolutely great atmosphere. Lots of twenty somethings doing yoga and playing guitar (and racing around the island on weird pedal cars). Make sure you visit the zoo. Beautiful gardens, too. Very busy area around the main fountain. Definitely recommend a visit.
  • Some parts are nice, other parts are run-down and very ugly. There was a lot of construction, so that might have influenced the poorer rating. But there were areas that definitely could use some renovation. It's a nice space sometimes inhabited with not-so-nice people. Don't go at night.
  • Beautiful park with a fantastic fountain. Make sure you see the fountain's musical show at night, as the lighting effects really impress.
  • A must see recreational area, while in Budapest. A beautiful park to stroll at, with small pools, open air theater, a Japanese garden, a tiny zoo, etc. Small electric vehicles for those preferring a ride. Highly recommended.
  • The equivalent of Central Park in Budapest. Popular with runners, cyclists and anyone who is just looking for some green area.
