Where to stay in Budapest

Attracting countless visitors with its architecture, history, and atmosphere, Budapest also provides a great selection of places to stay. The city’s hotels include everything from cozy and economical boutique establishments to luxurious world-renowned chains. Alternatively, choose from the huge variety of bed and breakfasts and hostels, as well as rental apartments ranging from economic to deluxe. While accommodations are spread throughout the city, more of them cluster on the livelier Pest side. You may want to place yourself near the sights you want to see most, but keep in mind that the city's wide public transportation network makes it relatively easy to reach all the major attractions no matter where you’re staying.

  • One of the best public squares I have ever visited. Clean, safe even at 11:00 pm at night, not too crowded, beautifully landscaped, modern yet blending seamlessly with historic buildings surrounding it. Perfect place to sit and enjoy the view of the beautiful buildings around it.
  • Amazing architecture surrounding this open square. There are water mist jets which spray every so often that were perfect in the heat to cool off with.
  • Must visit site while visiting Budapest. Recently renovated beautiful square with the stunning view of the Hungarian parliament. Impressive architecture of the surrounding buildings. Feels like a time capsule into the historical fame of the Hungarian empire.
  • Great sqare, perfect for pictures...if you have the time, surely should get to visit the parliament from the inside.
  • The Parliament building is beautiful and well worth a look, as do the neighboring buildings. The view to Buda is really nice, too. But otherwise the square is empty, with no trees to provide shade and no benches to sit, outside of nearby cafes. Gets really damn slippery too in rain or ice. Changing of the guards ceremony unintentionally hilarious. Ugly looking and depressing group statue occupies place of "honor" - what other nation would celebrate its tragedies?
