Follow in the footsteps of the 19th-century aristocrats as you stroll down Korzo - Danube Embankment (Dunakorzo). Located between the Chain Bridge and the Elisabeth Bridge on the Pest side, this walkway along the Danube is the city's most famous. As you go, admire the magnificent views of Buda Castle and a variety of sculptures, including representations of Sándor Petőfi and William Shakespeare. The walkway also features one of the city's most powerful memorials. Statues of shoes on the riverbank pay homage to the Jews who were killed here during World War II. Many of the city's famous sights and historic buildings, such as the Parliament and the Vigadó concert hall, are within walking distance from the promenade. If you need a break from sightseeting, the surrounding streets are dotted with cafes and restaurants.
