Kiraly Baths, Budapest
(3.6/5 based on 550+ reviews on the web)
Relax in one of the octogonal pools illuminated by holes in the 16th century Ottoman dome at Kiraly Baths, the city's oldest thermal baths. One of the few baths in the city with its own source of thermal water, this space has remained largely unchanged from its original state, making you feel like you are stepping back in time. The baths, pools, and Jacuzzi are all unisex facilities. Bring your own swimsuit, towel, and flip flops, and store your personal belongings in the secure lockers. Note that children are not permitted at the baths. Put Kiraly Baths into our Budapest trip itinerary maker to see other points of interest to visit during your vacation in Budapest.

  • Odd place face its history. Preserves all the same what might be a surprise or a disappointment. Pleasant experience by the effect of the qualities of the water. Do you feel the difference in your skin.

  • We had a nice time out of time and the crowd. Few tourists. Easy access by tram that runs along the Danube. Typical authentic baths. We opted for the cabin, baths, massage package. Great value in a picturesque location. No problem, the smell is that of the composition of the sulphurous water! Great well being in the various pools (different temperatures) including outside in the barrel... Massage tonic, but nice. Definitely worth a visit! Beautiful experience.

  • Absolutely unique place - seems to be out of this world. If you want to have fun go to Széchenyi or Lukács, for a spiritual experience come to Király.

  • Forget any luxury bath and go immediately to this place. This is NOT a place for who like 5 stars bath or stuff like this. Turkish bath in very ancient style, hot and cold bath and 2 sauna. Don't ask anything in reception, go to changing room, than ask info to someone. Direction are write in English also, so you can't lose. Real bath for real people
  • Very old Bath. It is not very clean either. It has atmosphere, but if you want wellness standard definitely look somewhere else. We went there in November and it was quiet full too.
  • Great atmosphere, perfect chillout location. Building is old and creepy, in some places even disgusting, but it oddly didn't bother me - only somehow enhanced this unique experience. Staff was very nice and helpful. You can rent towel and swimming suit on the spot (didn't try, just seen it on the price list inside). Swimming caps are not required (unusual in Budapest).
  • My favourite baths in Budapest, did read a 1 star review and it is true that someone should be your guide the 1st time you go there because there are no directions anywhere to be found, and the way to the dressing rooms and from there to the sauna is really not obvious, but once you get past that these are really the most private baths you can go to in Budapest, everything is packed into a small space so you don't need to walk at all. Also check the schedule of these baths because, if I'm not mistanken, it's not mixed every day of the week, some days are men only, then women only, and I think only 1 day is mixed and both can go.
  • The main bath is pretty spacious but the hottest one only fits about 6 people. Luckily this place doesn't get too crowded though. They have a lot of variety, two saunas, a Turkish bath and a jacuzzi. Place looks like it's in a need of renovation
