Beautiful building exquisitely preserved. Lots of History an important artists and composers are celebrated inside. The tours can be very very crowded, they have them simultaneously in three or four languages Hungarian English French German Spanish. Different groups Go in different directions so that they don't interrupt each other. Our guide was very knowledgeable and fielded the questions that we had.

It was under renovation when we visited! So we cannot see anything outside, but inside was gorgeous and amazingly decorated, even from the communist time! One very good thing about this Opera house is that you can take photos with the flashlight and record the short opera demonstration ! The performances and the acoustic are wonderful even they performed in a hallway during the renovation!

Beautiful building inside. The outside was under construction sadly enough. We did a short tour, and the guide was nice to listen to. We also got a nice little performance at the end of amazing quality!
-
Interesting place but I wish I could have seen the great hall. It’s nice that for compensation you can enjoy a short opera scene.
-
Now being renovated, even you paid 11 euro, you can’t even see the stage, backstage or the seating area. All you can see is the stairs, the corridors and a few rooms. They have opera performance for 10 minutes to make it up to you for the can’t see anything situation. Compared to our recent visit to the Vienna opera house, the Vienna opera house guided tour is the same price but offered a lot more to see. Visit this opera house when the renovation is completed. It looks amazing we had a peek into the renovating in progress of the inside.
