Gül Baba utca, Budapest

#302 of 824 in Things to do in Budapest
Reflect on the richness of the capital city's multicultural past at Gül Baba utca. The 16th-century Islamic turbe (a type of mausoleum architecture translated as "tomb tower") on the Buda side of the city is the resting place of the Ottoman dervish, poet, mystic, and theologian Gül Baba. The tomb is a pilgrimage site, and as an important historical monument, it is administered by the Republic of Turkey. Admire the restored Islamic architecture, view the elaborate ornaments, stroll through the rose garden, and examine the collection of exhibited artifacts. The road leading up to the tomb is paved in old cobblestones, so if you walk be sure to wear appropriate shoes. Admission is free of charge. • A bit surprising that this mausoleum is located so centrally located in Budapest. After very many trips here, I have not been aware of this. It is recommended to take a trip to the place.

  • How is the beautiful city of Budapest, who knows. Compared to our twisted and neglected our cities, it is possible to see the countless attractions of this historic city, trails and monuments. With the Danube River on the environment, also adds a beauty of the bridge. Anadolu care for about 160 years of the Ottoman Empire to come out of the most known places in the city is Gul Baba mausoleum without the leave would be unreasonable. The Danube is in one of the hills overlooking a modest mausoleum/monument. Budapest, so clean and beautiful, Gul dad, if you couldn't find anything much in tomb of the road to the shrine and we think it's worth the trip, even for landscapes.
