Gozsdu udvar, Budapest

4.1
While touring the famed Jewish Quarter, don't miss Gozsdu udvar, the bohemian heart of the area. Much more than simple passageways, the courtyards are surrounded with pavillion-style buildings, bars, and restaurants. Enjoy the specialties of Hungarian cuisine and the bustling night scene. Shop for handmade jewelry, leather goods, clothes, and other handicrafts at the small shops. Popular with both locals and tourists, the area regularly hosts outdoor exhibits, flea markets, and performances. This is a pedestrian area, but if you arrive by car, you can park on nearby streets. • They are a sequence of courtyards with a fantastic story behind, we went with a guide and so we understood more this space. It is very pleasant to stroll through it and drink or make any purchase in the number of jobs that are.

  • There is always something to do here, night or day. We didn't stay for the night life, but had lunch and browsed the stores, and spent a lot of coin in the excellent arcade. Something to do for all ag...  more »

  • Cool place with a lot of restaurants, cafes and karaokebars. Our hotel was there too so we ate here every evening and danced our butts off :)
  • Such a cool area. I went there at night and the whole place is packed with people mostly twenties but also some older. It's a long street but with no traffic and all restaurants and bars. Every place with its own unique vibe. Lots of music and just a great atmosphere. Definitely worth strolling over here, even just to people watch and check it out, if not to join in as well.
  • I love the antique market here! It is lovely to have a good breakfast at the Spiler then buy some little things for suvenir.
  • Street of buildings, shops and numerous stalls of objects, stamps, bags, scarves and bracelets. There are many bars and restaurants of international cuisine. Excellent rates.
  • Strip of tourist bars playing pop music, good if you're looking for this.
