Ecseri Market, Budapest

(130+ reviews on the web)
Flea Market
Find great bargains and search for hidden treasures at Ecseri Market. Not far from the city center, the market is easily accessible by public transportation. Look for everything from works of art and handicrafts to musical instruments, pieces of furniture, porcelain, antique weapons, toys, household items, and more. In addition to centuries-old items, you'll find a good selection of memorabilia from the Communist era. Even though many sellers don't speak much English, you should be able to inquire about items and negotiate prices without too much trouble. Haggling is a common practice, and most sellers are prepared to lower their prices slightly. Before you head to Budapest, plan trip itinerary details with our user-friendly Budapest itinerary planner, to make sure you see all that Budapest has to offer, including Ecseri Market.

  • Almost all the Third Reich stuff there is fake. The rest of what I saw was grossly overpriced, and can be bought for a third of the price in any city junk shop.  more »

  • Great flea market, lots of different stalls, everything from crockery, military memorabilia, typewriters, cameras, furniture, clothing and paintings. On a Sunday only about ⅓ of the stalls are open.
  • Awesome flea market. Open every day but most of the stores open only on Saturdays.
  • Not so interesting- and not recommended for tourists
  • Was ok, they didn't have all the stores open and nothing have prices.
  • Lots of crap, if you lucky you can find something interesting.
