Ecseri Market, Budapest

2.6
#19 of 48 in Shopping in Budapest
Find great bargains and search for hidden treasures at Ecseri Market. Not far from the city center, the market is easily accessible by public transportation. Look for everything from works of art and handicrafts to musical instruments, pieces of furniture, porcelain, antique weapons, toys, household items, and more. In addition to centuries-old items, you'll find a good selection of memorabilia from the Communist era. Even though many sellers don't speak much English, you should be able to inquire about items and negotiate prices without too much trouble. Haggling is a common practice, and most sellers are prepared to lower their prices slightly. To visit Ecseri Market and other attractions in Budapest, use our Budapest journey maker tool .

  • First thing: it is not true that is open daily; better is open to a lesser extent everyday but only on Saturdays there are all the stalls. You can get there from the Centre with M3 + line 84e/89e approximately 30-35 minutes from the Center (public transport very valid use them great). The market is less free-range than that of Prague (for those who know him). In the sense that you find less junk and layers of gear newspapers; We say that we are more on secondhand real Although midrange. You can find many furniture and vintage clothes and no. Trinkets and goodies home galore; Militaria seria forget it just like us (if there is a hit); Lots of Hungarian and Russian militaria at prices very valid (in other words a good Cap 5000 florins which are 16-17 euros to get discount). speech: treated by beast; they're all geezers so don't be afraid to throw down the price of a good 30%; then the hat that I said from 5000 guilders can reach 3500 which are very valuable price 11/12 euros; and so with everything else. Remember that nice sometimes to these markets is also a taste treat and snatch prices.

  • There are plenty of articels you can buy. Very few of the articels are originals, there are a lot of fake paintings, Herend pocelain.  more »
  • Took a while to get there by bus, but no problem to find. We used google maps the entire trip and it made your directions simple. There were lots of exciting things to see and the prices are prutbara. In Sweden, it would be much more expensive. Wanted to take me home. Cozy flea market with all kinds of things to find.

  • Loads of antique kitchen utensils and furniture. Vegetarian (sour cream and cheese) langos is 450ft at the ny deli.
  • If you are a retro stuff person you will like it. Entrance is free of charge.
  • Great flea market, lots of different stalls, everything from crockery, military memorabilia, typewriters, cameras, furniture, clothing and paintings. On a Sunday only about ⅓ of the stalls are open.
  • Awesome flea market. Open every day but most of the stores open only on Saturdays.
  • Not so interesting- and not recommended for tourists
