Find great bargains and search for hidden treasures at Ecseri Flea Market (Ecseri bolhapiac). Not far from the city center, the market is easily accessible by public transportation. Look for everything from works of art and handicrafts to musical instruments, pieces of furniture, porcelain, antique weapons, toys, household items, and more. In addition to centuries-old items, you'll find a good selection of memorabilia from the Communist era. Even though many sellers don't speak much English, you should be able to inquire about items and negotiate prices without too much trouble. Haggling is a common practice, and most sellers are prepared to lower their prices slightly. Out on perimeter. If you don't drive or must take public transportation leave yourself some time as it is far from the center. Plus go early, alleys and alleys of treasures. Go with cash as this will allow you to negotiate. What you are looking for they probably have it. I found a broken fall from the 70's easily repairable, bringing back child hood memories.

I was rather disappointed by this market To start of with it is incredibly far from the city center so about an hour is needed to get there. Once arrived, you will find that the stores are filled with just lots of replicas. On top of that the store owners will absolutely try to rip you off so be prepared to barter. Would not recommend.

Love this market! The best thing is the langos shop there- the best langos in Budapest and reasonably priced.

Worth the trip. Amazing treasures, trash, and possibility. Bring your creativity.
-
Definitely some items worth looking at. Do not go there in the weekdays, since a lot of booths might be closed.
