  • at the end of a long and wide Boulevard opens this large square, solemn as dedicated to the memory of the heroes of freedom. A memorial to the unknown soldier at the base of the monument and, at the end of the square, this original Castle enclosing parts of different architecture. In a word it encompasses all architectural styles (Gothic, Baroque and liberty mostly) of which we have many examples around town. This Castle shows us then the eclecticism of Budapest and the various souls as well as the many experiences that have taken place in the city's history.

  • This is a very nice park to cycle! Make sure you rent a bike somewhere and then cycle to this place to take in the greeneries and round the lake view! Cycling in budapest is a must do! very good experience indeed
  • Very big park right next to Heroes'square. Nice place to relax or to have a picnic. You can visit the Vajdahunyad castle or the Szechenyi thermal bath.
  • My day isn't complete without a couple of laps around Városliget. It's a great park, loved by locals and visitors alike. Just a few minutes walk from Oktogon, or of course take the metro to Mexikoi station. It will take you right there. There always seems to be a festival of some sort on in the park. Today it hosted 3 events simultaneously, with ease - the Budapest Half Marathon, The Beer Festival, and the Sürkemarha Fesztivál (the grey cattle festival :-)) Városliget and nearby Hősök tere (Heroes Square) are a must-do, while visiting Budapest.
  • A lovely large park in Budapest. Nice for a stroll, the amenities (an amazing spa, ice rink etc.) and to relax in a less bustling environment than the rest of the city.
  • I really enjoyed visiting this place during my holiday in Budapest. Although I didn't manage to see the entire park, I did manage to have a general walk along the central part and popped in to see the baths. I'd imagine that they'd be a great place to visit in summer!
