Lancetilla Botanical Garden, Tela

(3.7/5 based on 120+ reviews on the web)
Scores of flower aficionados flock to Lancetilla Botanical Garden every year to see one of the world’s largest botanical gardens. Spanning 1,680 hectares (1,200 acres), the gardens showcase many plants, encompassing species from four different continents. Bird-watchers rejoice--hundreds of migratory and exotic avian species call the gardens home. Be assured of the fact that your money goes directly toward the local community; the garden generates 60 percent of Tela’s clean water supply. Guided tours are only available in Spanish, however, the trails are well-marked and clearly signposted.
