Sandy Bay Beach, Sandy Bay
(3.5/5 based on 110+ reviews on the web)
Experience pristine white sands and explore a colorful reef close to the shore at the relatively untouristed Sandy Bay Beach. The vast stretching beach waterfront is ideal for taking a long walk accompanied by the gentle sea breeze, or just bring a book along and lie back on the soft sand. Don your snorkeling gear and swim out to the barrier reef to see a wide variety of exotic and colorful fish. Talk to one of the many vendors situated by the shore for a professional diving experience offered by expert companies. Plan to visit Sandy Bay Beach during your Roatan vacation using our convenient Roatan itinerary maker.

  • If you love snorkeling and diving it's hard not to love Sandy Bay and the west coast of the Island or Roatan. Roatan has excellent elevation, lush jungle, crystal clear waters, and reef just off shore...  more »
  • Long Sandy Bay Beach is located only three kilometres from West End. You can reach it walking down the road, by taxi or by bus local, very common and has a cost of less than a dollar per person. Much quieter than West Bay, with less chance of accommodation and restaurant and with more presence of algae in the sea, I think that it is one place more to visit in the day to stay. The area close to Anthony's Key is very interesting for snorkeling.

  • So much garbage and sea grass on beach - HOWEVER, if you can get out to the end of one of the many piers, the snorkeling is fantastic! AND, you hardly have any people because everyone is down the road ...  more »
