This site tells the story of the Netherlands and its people from May 1940 to May 1945, when Nazi forces occupied the country. I certainly don't understand the number of poor ratings for this museum. The material presented can be very in depth and I can see where it might be too much for people with a casual knowledge of hist... more »

Was very interesting to see and hear first hand accounts of such a devastating time in history. Heartbreaking but also empowering to hear the stories of those who survived. I would give 5 stars but the museum was very confusing to navigate, with many parts tucked into corners that were easy to miss. I would have liked to walk through knowing I saw all there was.

We really loved the Resistance Museum JUNIOR area even though we are adults. It was much easier for us to follow along and to get a complete picture of the times and conditions.

Although the topic is heave, the museum made an effort to depict how people were affected. Especially the children's exposition highlights the situation of different people's vantage points during the war in a very lightly way without downplaying the ugliness and hardship of the war. The exposition is highly interactive which keeps children engaged. Even our six years old, who after several hours still didn't want to leave. Very well done museum!

Not curated too well. Its a great place for someone who wants to know every single detail about life in the Netherlands during world War ii, but for the causal visitor, it's hard to narrow it down to the more important and interesting details.
-
Cool museum with lots of details if you are interested. Could maybe be clearer on the path you have to follow, but I believe it's done on purpose so you have to get a bit lost in these insane events. If you're interested in the big resistance story in the Netherlands, you should definitely go there.
