Create an itinerary including The Guyana National Zoo
See over 100 species of tropical and exotic wildlife at The Guyana National Zoo, including the main tourist draws, the manatees and harpy eagles. You'll have the opportunity to see lots of interesting animals up close, which may especially delight younger visitors. The zoo focuses on conservation and education, and many of its residents are rescue animals. That said, approach with caution if seeing animals in captivity at a zoo in relative disrepair is likely to upset. • The cages and habitat are unsuitable for these amazing animals. Heartbreaking to see this. I would love to speak to the owner and donate to help build a better Zoo. It’s disgraceful and a ploy for money.
  • When is Management going to do anything about the ABSOLUTELY DESPICABLE CONDITIONS of the poor animals?!?! The animals are CLEARLY ABUSED AND NEGLECTED AND DO NOT BELONG HERE. RELEASE THEM. It is HEARTBREAKING to watch these animals' spirit DIE with each day they are kept in these awful conditions! WHO CAN I CONTACT ABOUT THIS TO ENSURE THE SAFETY AND WELL-BEING OF THE ANIMALS???? DO BETTER, GUYANA! You should be ASHAMED AND DISGUSTED AT HOW YOU ARE TREATING YOUR ANIMALS!!!!!
  • Small zoo, could use a tune up but, overall enjoyable
  • This zoo is woeful and the animals are not being treated properly, many will do better if they were released into the wild. For a country with such rich wildlife, this is a shame. A revitalization project should be considered.
  • It is a decent zoo but as always in guyana it is run down. I do like the animals but due to covid-19 it was closed so I have not been able to visit for a while.
