Fuentes Georginas, Zunil

4.1
#5 of 30 in Things to do in Quetzaltenango Department
Relax and unwind in the hot water springs at Fuentes Georginas, which features four separate pools, each differing in temperature. Although it may feel like a tropical forest, the fresh mountain air keeps temperatures cool here. Take a sip of the mineral-rich water, said to possess healing powers, and consider staying overnight at rustic cabins, which come with personal hot tubs fed by the natural springs. The site also includes a shop and restaurant with a bar, which does get exceptionally busy on the weekends. Lockers and towels are available upon arrival. For travelers who use our online itinerary creator, Zunil holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Fuentes Georginas and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

I love to take my country, this place is magic if you want to venture to be close with nature, beautiful landscapes, and not many amenities, for those who like the adventure is recommended. Although if you wish to stay at the hotel having only if night falls you would recommend, since the road is a little dangerous in some parts is very narrow and then as it is a volcanic and mountain falls very dense fog, this is not a cheap hotel in the Middle, but I think that it leaves much to be desired in terms of comfort , but if you venture to go for a day, will enjoy it, I would only recommend to the authorities that are responsible for this spa, improve the environment of restrooms and dressing rooms, are not clean, there are bad smells and that mean added value to the place. There is a restaurant and the food is acceptable as well as the price. I recommend visiting during the week it is more tranquil.

I don't know if the situation is cambiata...ma I don't think. I have been to this place a few years ago ... for you lover of the Spa isn't anything that ... being outdoors is obviously water dirty, the locker rooms and the bar that is inside enough. Overall I would not waste my long time to spend a day here.

It is a popular place of natural beauty. By a narrow road is upload to Spa through a landscape of growing areas; as it is a local Spa, it is best to visit it during the week and outside of holidays, entry is economic, there is possibility of staying there but did not seem very attractive to the cabins, bathrooms are very simple to change clothes. There are different pools but the warmer and more attractive is the one attached to the mountain and that it receives the natural waterfall, the water is hot and sulfurous, a very good experience, it is believed that water is curative, the people are kind, out already the clouds had come down and the feeling of hot water, steam and forest is very special. You rent towels should not take.

Visited in the weekend and the place was very busy, but I suppose that is to be expected. The setting is pleasant, however the man made pools are pretty small aren't great. Judging by the smell of urine in the changing areas we weren't 100% confident that the waters were all that clean. To be honest it looks better in the pictures than in reality.

Water was very warm; it was a nightmare to get out because of the cold. Beautiful scenery on the way. Try a day when there is no fog, though.

You are going to love the road to get here, it's amazing. The place is really good, it has 3 pool with naturally warm water, at different temperatures each. Restaurant, locker service, bungalows(if you want to stay) and they even say the water has healing powers.

Best place to relax and heal yourself. Hike to the hidden spots, the main pools are full of people.

If you come early the morning you won't see any tourists (or almost...)
