  • We booked a morning tour with Gem Trips to Yaxha online for $50 dollars per person. The tour was canceled last minute, because we were the only ones to go, so we decided to go with the sunset tour. The owner didn't tell us that we were first going to have lunch (2 other people booked a tour with lunch, we just had a drink) and that we would only arrive at 3.15pm in Yaxha. The sunset is at 6pm. Knowing that other tour operators charge only 120 quetzales for a sunset trip (about 10 persons in a tour) and Gem trips asks $50 per person, while the cheaper tours arrive an hour earlier. The guide was friendly and knowledgable, just like the one for the big group. For us there was no advantage of the personal guide compared to the other tour in bigger groups. So don't book with these guys unless you have a money tree in your garden.
