  • You can get a guide at the bottom of the hike or just pay the park fee to go up. It's quite steep and you don't have to go all the way up. Great views and lots of forest!  more »
  • We paid the 100 quetzel entry fee at gate- No problem. You then may have a 'guide' that you meet on a tuk tuk that will offer to take you up for the first 20 min or so - you don't have to pay him - th...  more »
  • We did the tour with a guide and the ascent is rewarded by a fantastic view up. You can borrow sticks free at the park entrance and these are very helpful for the descent. We were told that during the week, far fewer tourists climb the volcano.
