  • this is a really strenuous walk. the altitude goes up 1200m and the road is slippery in rainy day. Going down is equally hurting knees. start early if you need to catch a shuttle later  more »

  • I only visit San Pedro a short while...but my day walking through the area was intriguing. I felt like I was somewhere sea side in Israel. A very friendly casual crowd of people. I am a solo traveler ...  more »

  • Beautiful views of largo Atitlan, costs 100 Q for entrada and it’s well worth it, they have a tire swing, some rest logs etc, If you are hiking this trail be fit as it does take you to 3000 meters above sea level and requires a good 5 hours up and down. -1 star because the bathrooms where barebone holes with no toilet paper. Just try and poop before okay?
  • Exhilarating climb, beautiful view of God's creation.
  • Beautiful place, you can watch some beautiful landscapes of the Atitlán's lake. To get at the top of the volcano is really hard, you have to be prepared to get there!
  • Great hike! Make sure you get a really early start to avoid the heat and the clouds that usually linger on the top. Awesome view!
  • Quite a hike given it'll consume your day to get up and back down, but well worth it for one absolutely amazing view. Some parts of the track need attention, and the way back down will be harder than the way up. Don't be discouraged by the police who will run up and down the track past you - they use this track for training and are clearly super fit!
