  • Interesting Museum, with works by local artists, being the main Carlos Mérida, is not very cheap, about 60 quetzales (8 USD), in a very nice building, worth the visit, if you like a lot of art.

  • The building was not designed to be a museum. But this is just the begining. Although this museum has some important arctifacts, the mise-en-scene is old-fashioned, boring and chaotic. The museographi...  more »
  • It is a space for art, and those works of plastic arts of our Guatemalan people, who see the universe from a different perspective, the enclosure has a noteworthy palaces coffered ceiling, is a good investment for other experiences. Erick Reyes Andrade

  • This is the main Modern Art Museum in Guatemala City. It is hard to get to by foot so you will need to take a taxi or drive there. It has very relevant art created by Guatemalan artists. It also has a colection of pre columbian artifacts. It needs to be much better cared for but it is a very important stop if you are in Guatemala.
  • The Museum is spectacular. The work that is very rich. I gave it a four star because the display is perfect until it reaches a point where there are oversized canvas. And there is hardly meter and a half away to stand to see him, then back there is another of the same size, then we have to see them on the diagonal. This temporary display occupies very little space so not to be organized a little better the end of the tour. My favorite are the works of Roberto Ossaye, not so much the bulls but of the faces, the prints in black and white of the maestro Carlos Merida and a work which I do not remember if it is the master Gallardo that is a series of mirrors. Carlos Mérida room is made with great care and this thoroughly hung. It is a nice tour, go to the Museum.

  • One of the few good options in the city, handled very well, with public funds. There is good work but it could be more.
